The first thing to do planning your wedding is the guest list. You can do it immediately, even before choosing the date, and it’s also indispensable for starting the venue research.
So you have two possibilities: invite all your friends and relatives, to make a great big party, or decide to restrict the list to close relatives and closest friends. A third, extreme way is an elopement wedding with only the couple.
It’s a very personal decision and usually, the choice of an intimate wedding is made with the heart. Why should you choose to organize an intimate wedding? What advantages can there be?

1 – Make the most of your budget
“Intimate wedding” is not automatically synonymous with “savings”, but reducing the number of guests will certainly help you keep lower the cost of the reception (even if the each/price could increase, pay attention to this aspect!). Other costs, however, could increase in an inversely proportional way or remain unchanged and therefore will have a greater percentage impact on the total.
However, with the same budget, the choice to make an intimate wedding will allow you to have a greater margin for customizations and details. It will allow you to choose quality and not quantity.
2 – Easier guest management
Choosing to have a few guests will allow you to administer them in a simpler and faster way.
Food needs, allergies, transport and overnight stays, positioning at the table: planning everything related to the guests will be much easier.

3 – Large venues choise
Whatever your wedding idea and style are, with an intimate wedding you will have a larger range of locations to choose from.
An Italian Villa or a typical small Italian Restaurant, a mountain lodge, or an industrial loft that can be adapted to your needs.
4 – More time for each guest
At the end of each wedding, the couples always tell me that times just flew and they had not been able to be with all the guests.
You will be overwhelmed by the affection of all the guests, you will be called for photos and to celebrate with everyone and, if the number of guests will be limited, you will be able to dedicate yourself to everyone with the right attention. It will be quality time spent with the people you really care about, the atmosphere will be more relaxed and calm, and you will be able to enjoy your day better.

5 – More details and more customizations
As I wrote in the first point, if you choose to make an intimate wedding, you will have a higher budget slice to devote to details and customizations. You can make personalized favors or gifts for each guest, reserve brunch for them the day after the wedding, and have more attention than you couldn’t do with a larger number of guests.
You can make your day even more unique, thinking outside the box and shaking up the traditions, creating personalized settings, and scenography.
As a wedding planner for intimate weddings, I am always enthusiastic when the couple chooses to celebrate its big day in the intimacy of their family and closest friends, letting feelings and emotions prevail.
